Based in Nottingham, I am an Environmental Photographer seeking to capture the habits of our society to bring forth important messages about sustainability. Industrial Imprint / Nature’s Resilience examines the relation between current industrial sites and the deterioration of nature and our environment. These photographs show ways in which plants have reclaimed certain structures and how this process might speak to a kind of resilience, whilst critically reflecting on how much nature can endure before it is too late. Standing in contrast to this process are the vast warehouses and power stations built in response to consumer demand for more products and energy. We are asking the Earth to provide more than it can sustainably supply, using up our natural resources faster than it can grow, and risking the extinction of human life. With this project, I hope to have conversations about how we treat the environment and our role as contributors to climate change.
