Imagery is a universal language, with the ability to communicate specific themes and narratives. This is why I am so passionate about sequential visual storytelling. Comics and graphic novels have been my main focus of postgraduate study, having made a zine, documenting my personal feelings and experiences of a long distance relationship, named ‘Leaves and Memories’. My final project consists of a children’s fantasy graphic novel ‘pitch pack’, made to showcase the story’s themes, characters, and design. This was named ‘Listening to the Moss’. Both projects have used nature as a visual metaphor, as this is a big inspiration for my work and creative ideas. I plan to continue the development of my final MA project, and to present it to publishers, with an overview of my visual story and its potential. I hope to add to the ever-growing world of visual storytelling, and to make work that other readers can enjoy!
