Connie-Anne Stevens

I am an MA Illustration student who came to Nottingham Trent University to expand my practice, with the goal of creating my own graphic novels and children's books. With an Undergraduate Degree in BA (Hons) Animation I have a particular interest in film composition and this is something I considered while working on my final MA Illustration graphic novel The Tale of the Coral Dragon. This story follows a marine biologist researching the effects of overfishing on the coastline as well as a Coral dragon who is exploring the reef. I illustrate the impact of fishing trawlers in a light-hearted manner and focus on structuring the panels similar to storyboards, an area I was the most interested in during my time as an Animation student. Freddie's Forest Café is another story I worked on throughout MA Illustration, a fun short story following a fox’s pursuit of apples to bake a new apple pie for his forest café. After the course I aim to continue refining these stories for publication.
