There is a continuous question and answer conversation within me, fuelling development and problem solving. Becoming self employed as a knitwear tutor and maker for small brands, clients, students and costume designers, has furthered my skills with hands on experience across a range of briefs, resulting in a wealth of knowledge and excellent knitting skills. This MA has provided me with a broader skill set focusing on programming and operating power knitting machines independently. It is my intention for the future to invest in a power machine, to be able to run my own studio and label with a core focus on quality knitwear to truly represent the craftmanship involved. I constantly seek to change perceptions of what defines knitwear by creating engineered garments that wouldn't typically be associated with knitting, something I have focused on within my most recent project.
