My knitted textile collection is inspired by the human relationship with the ocean, from nautical folklore, magnificent biodiversity and the subsequent destruction of our oceans. I have a strong passion for playing with structure, stitch and texture and particularly focus on domestic machine knitting and crochet. I love to design for womenswear and enjoy the process of making garments organically and without patterns, allowing the process to take over and yield unexpected and unique results. When designing, I like to create wearable art, being experimental with scale, mixing structures, employing illustration and CAD skills to play with pattern and combining textile techniques. Sustainability is very important to me and I aim to sell my own knitwear pieces, made from second hand sourced materials and shaped with a zero waste approach, post graduating. I would love to start my own small sustainable knitwear brand or work with another small sustainable brand.
