Beth Cartledge
I am in my final year studying Fashion Knitwear Design at Nottingham Trent University. My final year project centres around the title 'Body mapping - the construction of anatomy', focusing on the human body as the driving force, while also making links to architecture and abstract art. Ultimately, aiming to apply the knowledge I have built on structural makeup to produce a garment that adheres to these body qualities. Exploring innovative ways of how the inner patterns of the body can be utilized throughout garment design, my product aims towards a market who desire crafted corsets that both support and highlight the female body. My final corset is manufactured on the Shima Seki systems, avoiding the production of offcuts during pattern cutting. I aspire to continue to develop my knowledge in electronic knit and would love to have the opportunity to broaden this by learning more in depth. As well as new opportunity's in 3D garment design like Clo-3D and 360 garment photography.
