I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. I explore difficulties that people encounter in life. The design of my project is to give people spiritual strength and support through clothing. Nowadays, unisex styles are becoming more and more popular, but there are still many people who still have a fixed traditional impression of menswear and womenswear. My project aims to support the trend of unisex styles. I used waves as the rumoured difficulties that people encounter, but Wang said: “Difficulties can also be a way for us to solve problems”, so I used the ambiguity of the waves to blur out the features of clothes. Some characteristics make it difficult to distinguish whether it is menswear or womenswear in appearance. In addition, Tedeschi also said: “The best way to solve difficulties is to face them head-on”. To achieve this goal, I used waves as my project element and super contrasting fabrics to achieve the effect of blurring out features on silhouette and gender.
