The inspiration for my final collection comes from my mother's love for wearing bright and colourful qipao dresses. This has greatly influenced me to explore the relationship between qipao culture and Hong Kong's lifestyle and culture. I also delved into the 80s and 90s Hong Kong, including its old buildings, landscapes, neon light signs, and clothing. I was particularly drawn to the bold and striking colours of the old buildings. As I continued my exploration of Hong Kong lifestyle and checked patterns, I discovered fascinating shapes and patterns in the buildings' tiles, with colours usually in pastel shades. This has ignited my passion for knitting and helped me explore the art of stitching even further. The vibrant mohair pieces in my collection are reminiscent of Hong Kong's glowing neon lights, with edges that diffuse and create a beautifully blurry effect. For my final pieces, I will use inlay techniques and brush them to create a mohair effect. To represent the neon lights of Hong Kong.
