My project, 'Periodical Panic,' is a bold knitwear collection that delves into the emotional response to negative news reporting, turning anxiety into a provocative and captivating exploration of the emotional turmoil stirred by current events. The collection is inspired by distorted typography, and it's full of bold, graphic, linear prints and patterns that will leave a lasting impact. Like many young designers, I have addressed sustainability within my project by selecting deadstock yarn from various sources and utilising zero-waste pattern cutting or fully fashioning as many of my knits as possible. After graduation, I will take the next step in my career and work in the industry. During my placement year, I already began this exciting journey, and I'm eager to explore knitwear design and development in a professional setting. My technical knitting knowledge, proficiency with programs like Shima and Clo, and excellent communication skills make me an ideal candidate for any employer.
