I am a final-year student of BA (Hons) Design for Theatre and Live Performance. I am particularly interested in exploring how to cleverly express emotions on stage using light, space, and structure. My love for theatre arts made me decide to choose theatre design as my future career path. My favourite project is The Seventh Day, a play adapted from the novel of the same name by pioneering Chinese writer Yu Hua. In this project, I collaborated with my friend Yixuan Yang, a specialist in theatrical costume design, to create both the stage design and costume designs. I conducted in-depth research into the lives of people during times of societal change, exploring the meanings of death and the concept of the soul. After graduating, I plan to continue my postgraduate studies at UAL to expand my design skills, focusing on puppetry to further explore the field of stage design. I hope to return to China after completing my studies and contribute to the development of the Chinese theatre industry.
