Sian Slaney

With a passion for interesting cuts and exploration of shapes upon the body, my design is influenced by unique architectural forms in menswear tailoring. In my final year at Nottingham Trent University studying Fashion Design, I have explored this ethos, aesthetic and practice within my collection, Sculpting Sartorial Structures. Whilst studying, I have explored different approaches to pattern cutting, using various processes from seam and pattern block adaptation to sculpting forms on the mannequin. I also undertook a placement which taught me valuable professional manufacturing skills. After university, I aim to continue to develop tailoring skills with a contemporary twist and hone the craftsmanship within fashion design.
