My name is Roda and I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. I enjoy combining fine art and photography with fashion, and approaching it as a form of expression, ensuring both style and functionality harmonise. I tend to gain inspiration from my surroundings, varying from nature to politics and subcultures. My current collection has been heavily influenced by the political situation in my home country, Greece; where government corruption has negatively affected the lives of many, prioritising tourists instead of citizens, resulting in a heavily gentrified country, filled with a feeling of danger and instability. Thus, loads of communities have been created by people, showing solidarity to each other, following a DIY approach. Lastly, regarding the making of my collection, I hold a profound passion for sustainability, and I have challenged myself to craft pieces emphasizing on longevity, repurposing old items and using vegan fabrics.
