Hello, I'm Ritul Rai, a Womenswear Designer currently pursuing MA Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University. Originally from India, I bring over a years’ worth of industry experience to my practice. My work draws inspiration from nature, life experiences, and fantasy tales, embracing two distinct styles: one which exudes softness and femininity, while the other radiates boldness and confidence. At NTU, I have explored various techniques such as embroidery, laser cutting, and engrave raster, enhancing the depth and intricacy of my designs. My recent project, The Last Biobloom, delves into the lifecycle of plants, creating glow in the dark garments that capture the beauty of bloom and decay using eco-friendly bioplastic. This collection embodies the harmony between nature and modern design, celebrating sustainability. After completing my course, I aim to continue exploring sustainable fashion, creating innovative designs that harmonise nature and modern aesthetics.
