Natasha Owen

Hi, I’m Natasha, a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. Throughout my design practice, I have developed a keen interest in survival clothing, driven by the urgent realities of climate change. In the face of an unprecedentedly catastrophic future, I designed a collection which confronted the challenges of extreme weather head-on. This led to the launch of ‘1.1 Degrees’, a ground-breaking women’s fashion collection outlining the extent of the Earth’s warming above pre-industrial levels. ‘1.1 Degrees’ redefines the boundaries in a menswear-dominated industry, prioritising functionality without compromising on aesthetic appeal. Maintaining a high level of organisation throughout my final year has been possible due to my motivated and determined mindset. I attribute this to the invaluable experience gained during my 12-month placement with the Gymshark Design team. Following graduation, I look forward to challenging my design skills in the world of protective clothing.
