I'm Molly Eddy a final year BA (hons) fashion design student. For my final major project I have focused specifically on womenswear. I take a lot of my design inspiration from past trends particularly subcultures from the late 70s, 80s and 90s. My final collection explores the idea of creating hybrid identities which is where I looked at different styles, textures and silhouettes from different subcultures like hippie culture, rave culture and aspects of punk to create a fresh new line up with new meanings. When creating my garments there was also a conscious effort to avoid virgin materials and embrace what is already available to us. My passion towards fashion has developed by gaining more skills in pattern cutting, manufacturing and print design which are things I would defiantly want to continue with in the future. After graduating I want to continue refining my design abilities while gaining knowledge in the fashion industry.
