Meg James

My passion for a holistic environment stems from my childhood living on the Cornish coastlines, witnessing the organic beauty of nature and the damaging impacts of pollution. My current project, ‘Al Fresco – living in the open air’, aims to weave the story and thrill of adventure into sustainable soft furnishings for high-market glamping interiors and outdoor living. Drawing inspirations from the Cornish harbour landscapes and the aesthetics of the ritualistic early morning swims, the collection blurs the lines between luxury indoor living and outdoor freedom. Through my various projects and success in the TU Clothing competition for the sustainability award, I have gained a further understanding of how, as a textile designer, I can create more sustainable fabrics and influence a regenerative lifestyle, which I look forward to building on in my future within the textile industry.
