I’m Martha, an illustrator and maker from London. My current work shows a playful and dynamic quality with an attention to detail. I enjoy working with materials I see suitable and appropriate for each project, whether that’s watercolour, gouache, pencils and pastels, paper, embroidery, or animation. Having flexibility to work with different mediums, combined with an undefined and versatile style, allows me the freedom to work with an open-mind and not feel restricted. I’m inspired by people in day-to-day life and illustrating them as characters, the natural world, landscapes, and food, as well as textures and interesting colour combinations. I am constantly looking beyond the field of illustration into other creative practices to further inform my own work.
