Li Chun Wang - LC Emily

Whether immersed in the intricacies of design or stepping out of my comfort zone to learn new crafts or pursue some modelling fun for my friends FMPs; every moment has been a stepping stone towards honing my skills. I've found a sanctuary where my creativity knows no bounds, allowing me to convey emotions that words alone cannot capture. ‘Quiet Beauty in the Absence of Light’ explores the concept of endurance taken from a Chinese philosophy said to me by my father: “美麗的蓮花出淤泥而不染”; signifies the beauty of pond lilies’ breaking through the surface of the water unstained by the murky depths in which it grew. Staying true to one’s self uninfluenced by the challenges one may come across in their life. As much as my FMP is in itself a gentle reinterpretation of a beloved children’s book that conveys the importance of love, connection, and the ability to see beyond the surface to appreciate the true essence of things. ‘The Armoured Traveller: a bird’s eye view” shares a story of protection as one moves through grief and healing. Pattern cutting to create paths that navigate a way out of the anxious textile laser engraved movements of the heart sinking to the bottom of your stomach. Where peace of mind is found upon a mountain top above clouds, where everything seems so far away. And so with a heart full of gratitude and excitement, I shall continue this beautiful journey of self-discovery and creative growth.
