I am a fashion designer from London who came to Nottingham Trent University to study a 3-year degree in fashion design. My background is art-based after having studied and practiced for 4 years before I came to NTU. Through my time at university I learnt skills in manufacture and pattern cutting along with digital design skills on software such as procreate, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I would describe my style of design as innovative, empowering and contemporary, which developed over the course of university. Personally, my favourite part of the course was the freedom to experiment with our 2D work, especially the design development and sketchbook work as I feel as though they are my stronger points. In the future I plan to do a placement or internship with a company in fashion design and building connections in industry. I also have a brand ‘Licata’ which I put together in my Final Major Project, I would like to continue designing and making garments for my own online brand.
