Drawing from my classical ballet training, where I observed a glaring lack of diversity and inclusivity, I embarked on creating a collection that bridges this gap. It was imperative for me to make garments inclusive and diverse, offering a range of sizes and embracing a colour palette inspired by various skin tones. This choice was a deliberate response to the ballet world's tendency to cater predominantly to white skin, particularly evident in the pink shades of ballet ribbons and shoes. My collection sheds light on this disparity while celebrating the art form I cherish deeply. The print, reminiscent of the lines created by dancers, pays homage to ballet's grace and precision. Additionally, one of my garments is crafted entirely from recycled ballet ribbons, symbolising a commitment to sustainability while honouring my ballet roots. I aim to propel this vision into the fashion industry, championing diversity, sustainability, and artistic expression in every garment I create.
