Harry Carter

I am a British expressionist painter from Horsham in West Sussex who is now based in Nottingham. I showed an interest in art and drama from a young age and developed this through local clubs. I am a member of the National Youth Theatre and have performed in several stage productions. I undertook my art foundation year at the University of the Creative Arts and went on to study Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. During my time at university, I took part in a collaborative exhibition at Surface Gallery in 2023. I also worked as a curator for the Bonington Gallery during my studies. My works are a combination of acrylic canvas paintings and a range of pieces that use found objects from the places I depict in my work. My work replicates the feeling and atmosphere of music events, and I explore the ephemeral spaces they take place in as part of this. I particularly focus on the UK rave scene and culture.
