I am Emma May Thomas, a final year BA (Hons) Photography student based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, specialising in photographing animals, particularly dogs. Photography has always been a medium through which I express my passion for animals, especially those that we share our lives with—our beloved pets. My latest project, Theatre of Dogs, will be exhibited at the Don’t Lick the Walls exhibition in May 2024. I will be presenting a body of work that reflects the ways in which we anthropomorphise dogs. This will include a series of portraits of dogs from behind and a collection of doggy postcards for visitors to take home in exchange for a donation, with all proceeds going directly to support RSPCA Coventry & District. After graduation, I aspire to continue my fundraising for animals while pursuing my entrepreneurial ambitions in establishing my own dog photography business.
