I am a BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion student. My work is from a self-devised project titled Mirror, Mirror, on the Phone, which critically examines the pursuit of beauty and the profound impact of societal beauty standards propagated through social media. This project specifically addresses the issues of photo manipulation and identity loss resulting from excessive editing. My exploration aims to spark a dialogue on the authenticity and psychological effects of digital alterations in images. After graduating, I aspire to pursue a career in social media, where I plan to continue advocating against unrealistic beauty standards and promoting a healthier, more inclusive understanding of beauty.
