Stemming from the concept of the uncanny, I use the mask motif to curate eerie installations where the sculptural disguises question dimensional possibilities of shadow and form. My intuitive sculpting process explores the liminal space between beauty and grotesquery, between the known and the unknown, in attempts to create unearthly characters out of the mask motif. In video work I instil life in the masks, using in and post-production methods to create subliminal cycles in narrative and sound. I aim to develop and transfer my technical knowledge of ceramics into work within a pottery and further becoming a ceramics tutor.
