I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. I have experience working in a Malaysian local fashion brand. It encourages the use of sustainable fashion. During the working experience I became more knowledgeable about sustainable fashion, such as using sustainable fabrics to create garments, avoiding packing consumer orders with plastic bags and working with local manufacturers. As this experience I started to create a sustainable fashion collection for my final year project. ‘Redefine & Renew’ was created by using 16 pairs of preloved denim from charity stores. My collection focuses on Malayan heritage inspired by nature and henna artwork mixed functional details from historical garments. Every garment in this collection offers functional designs and challenges with minimal waste. My goal is to continue creating sustainable clothes with designs that are both functional and playful, once I graduate.
