My passion for diverse cultures and traditions has fuelled my work for my final collection, in which I combine traditional materials and techniques from the South Pacific islands with exotic and vibrant imagery I took from my trip to Vanuatu to inform my colour palette and pattern designs. My goal for my project - ‘Travelling Vanuatu’ is to foster a profound connection between the viewer and culture of Vanuatu, inviting them to experience the essence of the island’s spirit. My expressive marks and textures I create during the development process reflects the natural beauty of the indigenous scenery. I take great interest in intertwining design responsibility into my project as South Pacific designs have a deep connection with nature which I would like to preserve and continue throughout my project. For me, exploring different cultures and their vibrant patterns isn't just a creative endeavour; it's a source of joy and fascination. I strive to evoke these emotions in others.
