My name is Beatriz, and I am a BA Fashion Design graduate. The focus of my final year project has been reconciling my love of maximalism with my desire to live a more sustainable life. 'Maximalising' explores the potential of existing materials using traditional processes such as hand knitting and natural dyeing. The collection was designed to be approachable but fun, with the intention of inspiring others to push the boundaries of their everyday wear, influenced by the layering of maximalism and the bold colours of dopamine dressing. I want to encourage others to establish a relationship with their clothing that transcends the accepted ‘buy, wear, dispose, repeat’ model. After graduating, I hope to continue leading workshops to pass on my skills and enthusiasm, as well as educating myself about regenerative design.
