Angel Mcleary

I am a final year BA (Hons) Textile Design student specialising in weave, with a direct focus on creating vibrant and extravagant weaves. My final year project ‘Black Extravagance’ stems from my love and passion for black beauty and excellence. The project focuses on the celebration of black identity and culture. This maximalist collection is showcased by recreating one of a kind conventional textile pieces such as Kente and Ankara with a contemporary twist to reflect personal style and individuality. Fortunately, I’ve had a great opportunity of completing a brief for Paul Vogel and having feedback from him and some of my work taken to Premiere Vision Paris 2024. I also have the great opportunity of showcasing my work at New Designers 2024 this summer. I am open to many more opportunities like this in the future.
