Amy Crisp

I am a textiles designer, specialising in print design, I have a strong interest in expressionist art and portraiture which I like to incorporate into my design process and has fuelled my current project ‘unfiltered flesh’. Unfiltered flesh aims to explore the ideas around perceptions of the body and how imperfections are portrayed in modern society, through a range of large scale art pieces with the intention to confront the viewer and challenge views. I enjoy experimentation through texture and colour using mark-making to create abstract designs with a sense of realism. I also aim to take a sustainable approach to design, by reducing waste and discouraging mass production through the use of slow craft. I have explored this in industry with ‘Romo’ during a live brief. Taking what I have learnt from Industry experience I look forward to more opportunity’s in design in the future.
