Hello! I’m Amelia and I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear student. My collections are centred around historical influences, along with strong hand-crafted elements. My final year project, “Historic Opulence” focuses on the relationship between the Tudors and Rome. It explores the fashions of the British aristocracy and the grandeur of Roman architecture during the turbulence of the English reformation. This culminates in a luxurious collection for all ages, with intricate hand-crafted smocking and delicate lace, adored with elegant crochet detailing. This statement collection brings together harmonious heritage colours with regal inspired fabrics to create an elegant balance between contemporary and historic fashion. After graduating, I am excited to go on to study for a PGCE in secondary Design and Technology with an interest to also teach history. Alongside this I will continue crafting bespoke handmade pieces.
