I come from Hong Kong and found its busy and hectic environment overwhelming, making it difficult to connect with my surroundings despite the crowds. However, studying illustration in the UK has taught me to appreciate and observe my environment, and take time for introspection. I love using illustrations to convey messages to my audience. To me, illustration is a refined form of communication, a way to explain the complexities of the world. My goal is to create illustrations that bring warmth to my audience. Children's illustrations are particularly appealing to me because they can touch people of all ages, evoking a sense of nostalgia and encouragement. I am fascinated by the emotions and soul that dwell within people, and I use my illustrations to portray hidden and unspoken feelings while expressing my own beliefs. I prefer using hand-drawn methods like gouache and colour pencils, as they are an honest way for me to express myself. They reflect a certain aspect of my personality.
