Luke Narroway
My name is Luke Narroway and I was raised in a small village in Hertfordshire. After moving to study in Nottingham, I became curious about the urbanisation of landscapes as I noticed nature has been reintroduced into the dense collaborative megastructures which inhabit us. There is an ongoing dialogue between mind and matter as we all play a part in terraforming land and creating structures from yields of material but not only for function, for an aesthetic quality too. My practice samples conceptual ideas from theoretical physics, architecture, the dynamism of team sport, electronic music, anatomy, and astronomy. I describe my oeuvre as a quantum superposition, existing in more than one state at a time. My paintings change their function with each new observer and their individual interpretations expand the meaning of the work into uncertain spaces, for the work is an exploration of uncertainty in itself.
