Isla Staveley
I'm an autistic artist who's ready to make a change on the world! Despite my fine art background, I find that I prefer the practical making element of costuming. I particularly love historical costuming and how it can be adapted for contemporary audiences. I used my final project to bring to life an 1830s emerald ball gown, suitable for a Netflix show, and also a 1920s dress for a murder mystery, slapstick comedy play. In my free time, I run my small business called Iveley Creates, where I design and make crochet items. My favourite piece so far is a jumper I designed inspired by my favourite sweets, Percy Pig. After posting photos of the jumper, Percy’s verified account reposted my work and I got a huge influx of followers!
