I am a textile artist specialising in print and I studied a Masters in Textile Design at Nottingham. My practice draws inspiration from my childhood memories of being in nature using colour, shape and texture - embracing what I remember feeling and seeing, through abstract print. Using techniques such as loom printing, devore and sublimation printing, I create work that evokes a sense of something forgotten. Some sections remain intentionally ambiguous, giving viewers the opportunity to interpret what they see, whilst other elements of my prints provide clearer images –showcasing memories of my own. ‘Memories of nature’ aims to recreate a sense of nostalgia and invites viewers to reminisce on their own childhoods – whilst displaying the strong impression it has had on mine. After my course, I plan to further pursue interior textile design. I’m hoping to gain some industry experience through internships, whilst continuing to develop my portfolio and refining my identity as a designer.
